In addition, I’m happy and proud to announce that 5 Star Events was chosen as the “Vendor of the Month” by the amazing cinematographers at JPod Productions. Please follow this link to here JPod’s review of our company: http://jpodproductions.com/blog/2012/03/vendor-of-the-month-5-star-events/
First, as a dj I’m a fan of great music and Nick & Nikki picked a ton of it for their Lakeview Pavilion wedding. Here are some highlights:
First Dance: “Helpless” by Niel Young & the Band
Cake Cutting: “I Second That Emotion” by Smokey Robinson & the Miracles
Introduction Music: “Long Way to the Top” by AC-DC & “Baba O’Reilly” by the Who
For dancing the request list had a predominantly classic Soul, Motown, R&B feel. The dance floor started out packed with Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell’s “Ain’t no Mountain High Enough”. The crowd went crazy to the follow up “I Want You Back” by the Jackson 5. The frenzy continued right through to the very last song – “No Diggity” by Blackstreet feat. Dr. Dre. Crowd favorites included “Get up Offa That Thing” by James Brown, “California Love” by tupac, “Magic Dance” by David Bowie, “Shout” by Otis Day & the Nights & “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg” by The Temptations to name a few. If you’re a Red Sox fan and Fenway Park is out of your budget or logistically impossible for your wedding, there are some other ways to incorporate your favorite team into your big day.
Option 1: Consider hiring Red Sox announcer Carl Beane to introduce your wedding party. He’s available for hire provided it’s off season, the Sox aren’t playing, or the team is playing an away game. [ continue reading ]
OK I am so backed up with pictures. I am doing my best to put them up whenever I have a chance. These pics are from my wedding this past Friday (10/14/11), at Topsfield Commons. The ride was long – 2.5 hrs in the car, and the load in was rough – through the kitchen and up the stairs, but it was well worth it. Check out the pics. Danny & Sandy’s wedding was a blast!!
The party was non-stop from the first dance to the last – “(I’m gonna be) 500 Miles” by the Proclaimers. There were Irish songs, a polka and lots of great party music. Check out Sandy crowd surfing!!
Everyone was included, young and old – and all took part. This party was even more fun than the pictures show. 🙂
I wish I could post all the images here. I have so many good ones!! It was honestly tough to choose. Check back for more updates. I still have to post my Indian Pond Country Club wedding on Saturday.
The third week in July brought record heat & humidity. July 23rd was the tail end of a scorching heatwave and the wedding day of Steve & Kate Peters. We were in the carriage house of Linden Place, historic, beautiful, majestic but very, very hot. The staff at LP were great at accommodating the uncontrollable heat. Never have I seen so many fans at a wedding. But still it was HOT!! You would think that the heat would keep the crowd from dancing but nothing could be further from the truth!! These people were soooo much fun!!! Check out the pics below.
This came in from the parents of the bride:
“Thanks again for the exceptional DJ service you provided for my daughter’s wedding this past weekend. Despite the heat you had people up dancing all night long. Everyone remarked what a wonderful time they had. You are even better than advertised!”

Oh, big props to Blackstone Catering of Middletown, RI. I had never eaten lamb before – I actually didn’t think I liked it. Well Blackstone converted me and it was one of the best meals I have ever eaten at a wedding. Delicious!!
